Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill should NOT be passed in Rajya Sabha. Save INDIA. Must read.

What a mockery has been made of this Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill? Is the BJP government not ashamed of playing with poor Farmers/Indians? Attached are the details of amendments made to this bill during Lok Sabha 2015.

1. Exempting people's consent for industrial corridors (set up by the government and government undertakings) is betrayal by BJP Government, as this can result in transfer of land assets from land owners to industrialists. As an example, State government might allocate land to some Industrial group at a price which is 5 times lower than the current market by acquiring lands from owners at a cost which is 10 times less than the current market value. The industrialist gets benefited overnight whereas the landowners cannot even buy 1/10th of the land with the compensation.
2. How can the land be taken from farmers for (a) Affordable Housing (b) Infrastructure (c) Rural Infrastructure? On what basis, is this justified?
3. In the past, most of the land acquisitions have failed due to malpractices in the compensation procedure for farmers. Should the farmers not have the right to decline the offer made the government at any point in time, without stating any reason? Is this democracy?
4. Whenever the government decides to acquire land from farmers, it takes several years for the procedures to be completed. Why should the farmers be compensated on outdated land rates (at the time when the government starts the procedure)?

This Land Acquisition Bill (after amendments) to be tabled in Rajya Sabha 2015 is not in good shape. There are lot many deficiencies in it.

If BJP is serious for farmers and willing to resolve this problem of Land Acquisition, then this bill needs lot many changes. The procedure of Land Acquisition should be farmer friendly and fast so that both the industrialist and farmers benefit from the same. In the current form (after amendments made in Lok Sabha 2015), this bill will prove to be a disaster for farmers and benefit only the industrialist groups working with the government. more

In India, corruption will always prevail at every level. With this truth, if the government plans a proposal/bill then only something can work. This Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill cannot prevent farmers from malpractices. Even the clause of punishing officers for any offense was added as an amendment. Land acquisition can also be done without acquiring land from farmers, like by using vacant land. Farmers land if mandatory for a project, should be compensated on latest market rates, simple. Why fool farmers in the name of jobs or other benefits which will eventually fail due to corrupt malpractices ? BJP is only trying to copy China's model where government only works for the rich (Crony capitalism). India is the only country in the world with multi democracy. What is the point if we also have to progress like China by suppressing the poor ? more
Make in India was my idea which i have posted at Mahindra Rise competition 2-3 year back. I have proof of it also more
IN MY OPINION, THE PROBLEM CREATORS ARE INDEED NOT THE FARMERS. REAL AGRICULTURIST OWNERS WILL NOT SO REVOLT. IT IS THE CREATION OF THOSE BINAMI LAND OWNERS OF LUMPSUM LAND-SCAPES AROUND THE CITIES AND TOWNS AT MANY PLACES. THEY ALL CREATE SUCH PROBLEM TO ESCAPE THEMSELVES AND ; WITH A DIFFERENT EYE , BRIDGE UP THEIR PURCHASES IN AND AROUND A PROPOSED PROJECT. SUCH ARE BECOMING COMMON NOW A DAYS BECAUSE OF HEAVY INVESTMENTS ON LAND SO SAFELY DUMPED FOR THE LAST TWO DECADES. more
