Issues telcos create when trying to port away number

My experience is that airtel and vodafone find all possible ways to delay the porting of a number away from them and keep coming up with lame excuses. I dont know why TRAI is not stricter on this.

Can members of the circle share there experiences and perhaps LocalCircles can escalate this issue.

In latest a friend was told there is signature mismatch between your 2010 and 2020 signature and hence porting cannot be processed. more

Nobody wants to loose its client and hence they will do all type of tactics, for not doing the required work.I had similar experience with Kotak Shares. more
We are smart enough to find way loopholes in govt policy. So busy cant fight back to system. more
But my experience tells a different story. Only last week I got my phone ported from Vodafone to BSNL hassle free. I just sent my request to 1900 from the phone to be ported and immediately I got the required Port Out Code No. by return SMS. Next day I went to the local Bsnl office who issued me a new SIM Card after obtaining the required application along with a photograph & a copy of the aadhar card. Activation of the SIM, however, took 3 days, which is normal. more
High TRAI with govt. Introduce an act that number portability to be done in a fortnight time, else telcos are to be fined say Rs5K. more
TRAI is Terribly Ridiculous Association of India more
