However, NO EXEMPTION is given to inputs used for making prasadam such as sugar, vegetable edible oils, ghee, butter, service for transportation of these goods that attract GST. ISKCON, and other religious institutions are NOT SELLING Prasadam and/or food... It is a matter of belief for the devotees.... Therefore, religious institutions/societies DO NOT HAVE to take permission from concerned Ministries, register for GST, and product testing /selling licences... more
its not about GST, its about declaring contents and safe processing procedure norms, Holy product has to be SAFE to Us all is the point, and the issue raised here is about appropriate labelling to sell across the country, selling a thing in the premises of a shrine is one thing, selling across the country without any declaration is a violation. more

Why expect special status. Also, why law enforcement agencies should ignore any body's misdeeds ?
