A cancer tsunami is coming to India. Will the warning signals be sufficient preparation? With two new detections every minute and three deaths every two minutes, the tsunami is already rising.
There are more than three million prevalent cases of cancer in India, though the real number is likely tripled due to a large number of cases left undetected and unreported. India is projected to see 1.23 million new cancer cases a year, with a 20% increase expected by 2020, leading to 1.7 million new cases a year by 2035. While this is alarming growth, other cancer-stricken countries are in the same range with much smaller populations.
The survival rate disparity is stunning. In India, 70% of new cases will lead to death within a year; it can be close to the reverse in the U.S. and elsewhere. Millions are dying from cancer, prematurely, without ever knowing they had the disease.
To address these enormous concerns, the solution must be two-pronged: Indians need to be better educated on the disease and they need to have better, more affordable access to early diagnosis and care. more

Advocates Exploit us in Courts . I have filed a cases on clarification on regulations 16 & 20 of DDA Regulation 1968 . for DDA responsibility ,in year 2011. but My advocate has failed to put it before Delhi High Court . more

Sir, we all know the situation…what is the alternative? We all have it but are not ready to act on it. Let me explain you by examples How many of us exercised the option for NOTA during elections? We have been given the privilege, we all know our rights…but have we ever exercised them? If not, do we have the right to crib around? There is no point in saying that it takes several years for a court decision to come. Had someone from us filed a PIL several years back, we would have been sitting on a court decision today! I have myself fought 13 cases in the last 10 years and have won on 12 occasions! People rule us because we let them rule on us and that is why 50K Britishers ruled over 200 million Indians for 200 years… Let us come out of criticizing mode and do the things ourselves. That is Gandhism. We all know how citizen of Chandigarh came along together to clean up Sukhna lake! Who spreads pollution…who does adulteration…people from us only.. Why does an offender repeats his offense…because we are used to self-abuse. We allow them to feed us poison, kick us, insult us, abuse us and still we elect them, touch their feet, facilitate them and treat them as our Gods… My apologies, if I have used some hard words.. It was the responsibility of Civic Agencies for proper Sanitation but corruption in MCD brought the situation that it had Ghost as Sweepers to clean the Roads . Blaming Public . though some people are responsible . It is easy to say that we have Courts to implement the Law with PIL but it take several years to take action . when Govt dont question on Expenses in the Court which Tax payers money . more

Dear Hema ji, swachh bharat abhiyaan is a right step in the right direction. Now we have to ensure to keep it going… I feel one big change required is intolerance towards "Chalta hai" attitude… Let us pledge that we will be intolerant towards pollution, adulteration, lethargy and self abuse…believe me, more than 50% of the problem will be solved. For this, we already have so many tools with us viz. RTIs, PILs with courts, social media…we have to contribute some serious time and TAKE ACTION… Remember..hum sudhrenge…to hi desh sudhrega...
