Is FastTag really helpful or the only business of issuer banks/ agency?

FastTag is now a days mandatory on NHAI Toll road. It is good but there is no real benefit by travelers. As FasTag issuer are taking deposit of about Rs 200 against tag issued by them which will be really refundable is the question. Also they kept mandatory minimum amount appx 150 or 200 rs for active status of FastTag. So almost Rs 400 of each customer are with issuer banks/ agency for their business. Above all this they are also not allow multiple FastTag in a single Id or wallet. So one having multiple vehicle has to maintain all wallet separately which creates headache. Gov. should note this and take necessary steps to ease the FastTag service. Thanks more

How this can be improved??? more
Fast tag is a very good idea, but the implementation part could be improved as the current device takes nearly 30 to 45 seconds to process one vehicle. it should be improved to process within 10 secs for a vehicle more
Fast tag is a good idea that saves a lot of time. Does the car owner not spare 4-5 hundred Rs. for his own convenience, saving time and fuel at every toll plaza more
Anything that Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the hon'ble Minister for Roads and transport introduces has some thoughtful planning for its utility and that is why he is respected by all and sundry across party lines. This measure also has some benefits, some definite advantages and introduction of any new measure generally causes some initial dilemma, some irritation, a bit hesitation to change but ultimately one gets used to it.
Does not the owner of multiple cars pay road taxes, obtain fitness certificates, keep tab on separate drivers and their driving licences, keep R.C. cards for verification by the authorities, whenever required?
Wait a few months and the process when truly implemented in full scale, the owner of multiple cars will get used to it, including its refunding just like recharging multiple sims in multiple mobile phones.
I do have a single car, sparsely used outside the city and with a remote chance to cross a toll plaza on a national highway but I too have obtained a Fastag only to avoid much more hassle in case......in emergency.....you never know. Who has seen tomorrow? more
