Panigrahi Sir, What is the appropriate level? more
Madam,I was once a regular participant in Local Circle. We post our experiences or suggestions to bring about consumer alertness and hope some one in hierarchy do take notice of consumer moods, bring up salient briefs to the Ministry and   Ministry in turn take steps in interest of the country.  Alas the channel is never transparent to convince us that our posts are not thrown to dustbins.    Krishnadas Chattopadhyay kchattopadhyay1@aim.com more
Chyavanprash is widely sold and consumed in India as a dietary supplement. It has become a household name . It is prepared as per the instructions suggested in Ayurvedic Texts , as a cooked mixture of sugar, honey, ghee, Indian gooseberry (amla) jam, sesame oil, berries and various herbs and spices. The name chyavanprash is associated with good health and the recipe suggested by Ayurveda has a high Esteem with people as a positive Health supplement . THAT NAME SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO BE USED FOR ALL AND SUNDRY FOOD ITEMS EVEN AS FLAVOUR . more
Madam,               This is in ref to your mail regarding misleading  ads . I agree there should be heavy penality to both the manufactrers  and  celebraty of ads for misleading ads. To day we have two issues in products manufactured in India and  of other countries i.e. QUALITY & RELIABILITY. India being a cost sensitive market we go by price and not by quality . Standards are not mandatery . Hence  the tendency of the manufacturers is to secrifice engineering standards /use poor quality materials in manufacturing  and make the product more and more  cheaper. . As standards are not mandatory low quality products from other countries are also dumped in India. This being the case the manufacturers to sell their products give misleading ads to sell their products. If ads will  be regulated by a govt body in my view , we will open an inspecter raj in the  country. My suggestions is to tackle at the manufacturing stage for manufacturing high standard and rich specification products   :- 1.  Introduction of  a libility clause and takeback policy in manufacturing: 2   Make  benchmark quality standards of products  mandatory.both for products manufactured in India and from ther countries as well3.  Self certification by the manufactures/ traders  adhearing to quality standards  before sale in the market.4.  make a product directory of all such products giving specification / price etc and place in public domain for the consumers to select their produts With quality products available the local brands will also go to global market and become global brand as desired by the Hon'ble PM. May I request you to take up at appropriate level for enacting law on above . I have sent suggestion to PMO on the above for consideration.
