Insurance cos

I bought a health Insurance policy from HDFC Life for
3 lacs, paid Rs.21,000 as premium. My wife was hospitalised with dengue and suffered many complications in Fortis, Vasant Kunj. I submitted an actual Hospital Bill for Rs.2,36,000 and after two months got only Rs.1,06000.Illogical deductions were made and justified the claim settlement. Can they be taken to the consumer court?
Can anybody advise please. I will be grateful.

go thru th e terms and conditions. certain disease or illness insurance companies wont pay full. more

Before proceeding any where, please lodge your complaint to the company and then to the grievance cell. If no relief is given, you can proceeds to the ombudsman for getting redressal of your complaint. more

Pl go through all the terms and conditions of the policy. Take the details of deductions from insurance company. Find out whether all the deductions are as per the terms of policy. If there is any difference please raise objections to the insurance company grievences cell and wait for response. Incase do not receive satisfactory response you may approach IRDA and ombudsman they will help for settlement of proper insurance claims more
