What is the case if a part of the building is rented to a religious body as a place of worship and other parts of the building are rented out for commercial use and residential purposes? more
Dear Subhash Soneja ji before advising to get GST registration or not it is important to know that what do you do other than rental income means you are doing any business or industry or providing or receiving any taxable services etc as in GST regime GST registration liability comes after considering over all turnover from all business and services. If your total turn over from business and services is less then 20 lakhs then you have no need for getting GST registration but if your turnover is more than 20 lakhs then you are liable for GST registration. If you are willing to take GST registration even if your turnover is less then 20 lakhs you can get it voluntarily but once you are registered under GST you have to fulfill all the legal liabilities under GSt like filling of monthly returns, depositing of taxes under reverse charge, annual return etc. So please take your decision accordingly and carefully as once you get GST registration you can not withdraw before one year. more
