I have all my life so far been self employed. Paid all taxes like excise VAT PF ESI etc. etc. Means out of pocket. Finally now k am 65 . Govt has never given me any benefit og all that i have laid whicj must have reached in crores. They talk the cheapest mouth. more

All law enforcement agencies and revenue collecting agencies throughout India are corrupt. They scare innocent people and quote laws which innocent person does not know and extort money. Uttar Pradesh heads the list. People who really evade taxes etc., are their eco friends too and go smooth. You scratch my back and i will yours. Sufferer is innocent ordinary person. Beneficiaries are govt. so called officers. I had my business which i have closed. All my life i paid all govt taxes etc., Now i get nothing from govt. I consider our govt. a prostitute. more
Leaving aside the hope of getting benefits from Govt, there is another mode of getting taxes from the shameless citizens; Danda!!There also this country's all Govts has failed, because the businessmen, when called by assessing I.T officers, never forget to meet them without carrying bagfull of cash. This is the system, everybody is happy, except the poor citizens. 1500 cars are getting registered in Delhi everyday, has there been any rule made in the parliament that will decide the entitlement of buying a car against the amount of taxes the buyer is paying to the exchequer?Never, because the political parties are given donations in crores by the car manufacturers. more
Why talk of Healthcare cost is rising day by day and forgetting other items. During my engineering studies during 1957-61, I paid total Rs.720, & no other charges for examinations. Now it is more than Rs.3,00,000. When in Jan.1971 gold cost was Rs.160 for 10 g, now it is Rs.25,000. During 1956-61, a two room house costed Rs.15 pm, now it requires more than Rs.6,000 pm. In late 60's commin medicines costed Rs.2 for 10, now it costs Rs.35. In 1962 an Asstt. Engr. was having a scale of 350-850, now it starts with Rs 21,000+allowances. But thise who are not earning & have to depend on the saving, self or by parents, such as single ladies, deficient children - how have they to survive? The nation has probably no answer till now, & previous Central Govts. and the ruling party heads claim that they had done so much for the poor. They have definately added poors! more
Absolutely right! There is nothing like social security in India despite of paying hefty taxes through out the life. Better living standard and social security, besides work opportunities, are the main reason of talent migration to other countries. Govt. has started taking subsidies back from good earning people but what are they giving back? No motivation at all to pay taxes..The only motivation, which is left, is that we are contributing to the development of our country and society.. Healthcare cost is rising day by day and this should be govt.'s first focus for return to tax payers. Many of us work in global companies and we are exposed to global world so we have many such thoughts how foreign govt offer benefits to tax payer. But as a country we are still developing..let's see how govt and us leverage our potential to make it better! more
There is no motivation to pay taxes. There is not a single benefit in this country to pay your taxes honestly. That's why people avoid taxes and pay bribe. Govt employees are happily enjoying such hidden benefits of being on wrong side. The true reason for corruption. more
