HUL Pureit Marvella RO

Friends...We purchased the Pureit RO purifier last year in June 2014 or so. Since the water quality is very hard in bangalore and also that many places only tankers deliver water, this machine gave us lot of sleepless nights and used to get frequently disordered requiring changing of some filter / membrane or other. It has got repaired so many times that we stopped using the machine for drinking and use only for cooking. Although repairs have reduced but still something crops up and we need to spend Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 to change. They mention that the light indicators change which would require changing of kit. However, the lights have never turned colors and have always been in green. When asked their service technicians dont clearly mention the reason. Imaging you drinking the water without realizing that something has gone bad. You should leave it to the God or by your own reasoning to find out if the water you are drinking or using is right. The way they advertize will make you feel that it is a great machine. However, I would request you to exercise caution in buying such filters particularly when you know that water quality in your area is very hard. We were new to bangalore when we purchased it. However over the course of time, felt that its high time I raise this will the other users of this forum. Please be careful and dont blindly trust just by the name HLL or any other similar brand. Somehow, I have lost the trust which HLL claims to have of people. more

By spending huge money through advertisement the companies are attracting customers. The aim is to sell the product and generate income and after sales service has no importance. Government should frame rules penalise in case of complaints from the consumers. more
It is the modern age and we are bent upon to become totally mechnised. More & more mechanisation naturally increases our trouble making life hell. In the event of any doubt about the purity of the available drinking water, it is better to opt for our traditional ways of boiling the water, which gives 100% guarantee of purity. Hence, it is advisable not to follow others blindly and waste our hard earned money for no good. more
Thanks for telling the problems. It is not only the cheating, the agony is also follow up with the company and the service technicians and their endless explanations about the malfunctioning of the machine. I think their cheating should also be advertised in a big way they advertise about their products. Some agency should be created by contributions of all cheated personnels for making the advertisements of cheating. Consumer courts and other legal procedures are cumbersome and these companies are thriving on the loopholes. What if you fight? You will get the cost of yr equipments plus a nominal amount of cost ..that too after spending of so much of your time and energy! And the small cost that the company will pay to you will in any way not alter the health of the company. more
I think the primary mistake we all commit is - believe in the advertisements, especially when it is advertised by clebrities - and later cry over it. It is clear that Mr.Karthik has got a genuine problem. And if there is a 'problem' we should try to solve it. Now try this, if u r interested. Keep all the documents, correspondence, bills, print out of e-mails etc. in tact with you. Just send a notice to this co. asking them to replace the machine, due to reasons (whatever reasons you have about its non-functioning or mal-functioning). You stipulate a date and tell them that unless the machine is replaced within a period of 15 days from the receipt of your notice, you will be forced to proceed legally. If there is no reply or response, immediately file a petition with all the copies of documents you have with the DISTRICT CONSUMER DISPUTES REDRESSAL FORUM, of your District. In the petition you pray for (i) replacement of the machine immediately (ii) claim compensation for a. DEFICIENCY IN SERVICE AND b. ILLEGAL TRADE PRACTICE (iii) all expenses incurred for filing / conducting the case and (iv) any other expenditure that may be incurred and prayed for during the course of the case. You have to prepare a petition, enclose all the copies of the documents and 100 Rs. Postal Order in favour of the DISTRICT CONSUMER DISPUTES REDRESSAL FORUM. Send it to the office of the FORUM by regd. post ack.due. You will get favourable orders. Further, please encourage others also to follow the same procedure in their districts against the concerned companies. CONSUMER IS THE KING AND HIS RIGHTS ARE PROTECTED BY LAW. Feel free to contact me if any further assistance from my side is required. nambiartkg@gmail.com more
