How Secure is Individual's ID ?
Recent news of creating fake accounts using some one else's ID is extremely worrisome. Govern asks for ID documents like PAN and Aadhar card copies for a variety of reasons but no one is sure how far these documents will be kept secure and not misused. Anyone can get replacement SIM cards or open new accounts using someone else's' ID in connivance with the staff. Otherwise, how Axix bank in NOIDA opened 20 current accounts with fake IDs ? Government should introduce safety features like finger print and iris scans while opening such account sof giving away SIM cards. At the same time, even PAN cards should be made foolproof. It is quite well known that many fake PAN cards also exists which are used for hiding the income. If government wants citizens to use digital technology, they must safeguard citizen's IDs. more

RBI in coordination with Finance Ministry extensively in these days of post-demonetisation paving the way for new digital mode in every nook and corner all over India . Cyber crimes attract Indian Penal Code provisions . Yet , something like the Russians' alleged cyber attacks, including the hacking of the American emails to influence the Presidential election against Lady Hillary as per the American FBI is an eye-opener to realize how much more powerful is the negative-knowledge-holding faculty of humans . more
