honouring all the unsung sportsmen

Other than Cricket all the other sports do not get their due share of celebration in India...A lot of sportsmen are leading a miserable life despite glorifying India at International level

Recently there was one pic on facebook showing our womens kaddadi team which won the medal was looking for auto rickshaws outside the airport..
These type of things discourage the players..

------ Sita Sahu won two bronze medals in olympics sells pani puri.

-----Nisha Rani Dutta--she was forced to sell her archery bow for Rs. 50,000
She won silver medal at the 2008 South Asian Federation Championship in Jharkhand, a bronze medal at the 2006 Bangkok Grand Prix, and the Best Player Award in the 2007 Asian Grand Prix in Taiwan

-----Rashmita Patra-Runs a beetle nut shop..
She represented India in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for under-16 women's qualifier at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in 2008.
Two years later, she helped Odisha win the national women's football for under-19 in Cuttack.
In 2011, she again played for India in senior AFC qualifying round at Dhaka and helped the country win an invitational series in the Gulf country, Bahrain.

------Nauri Mundu--teaches at Mahil, a private school run by an NGO. Besides teaching, she also has to engage in farming because she earns merely Rs. 5,000 from her teacher's job, which is not sustainable for her family.
She was a hockey player from Jharkhand and also won many awards. She has represented the National team 19 times. She was awarded the best hockey player ward by former Chief Minister of Bihar. She won bronze in Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament and National Women's Games, among several other accolades.

Similarly there would be other sports also where the sportsmen despite performing at international level have not got their share of limelight..

No govt in the past has taken notice of this..
Requesting Modiji to honour all such people who have performed at International level for our country but are now living a miserable life..
Please identify such people and reward them with monetary benefit ..
This would be a great step appreciated by the entire country more

The question still remains open ..Is the govt really considering the suggestion more
Till end of 90s , Sports were given preferable recognition even for Govt. Jobs , Selection in Police and Military . After transferring the Educational institutions to those private who do not have grounds or time , the Games & Sports were set asided and grossly neglected except Cricket , and Seasonal Hokey & Food Ball that too only Railways etc., . The neglect of Games & Sports in Schools & Colleges made the energetic youth prove unfit in the Running Race for Police Selection and Military Selections . The neglects have also reduced the Kilometers and time to Run . This neglect also made Policemen afraid of running except those in Special Protection Troops . The lapse of Strength and Stamina in Students and youth has been since 1 and 1/2 decades getting deteriorated AND ULTIMATELY RECENTLY S.C. HAD TO DIRECT THE GOVERNMENTS TO FIND-OUT THE VARIOUS REASONS FOR THE INABILITIES OF INDIAN YOUTH IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES . Thank you Nitin for bringing once again this Vital and Prime issue of Games and Sports FOR WHICH NOW THE GOVERNMENTS HAVE TO STRIVE TO PROVIDE GROUNDS IN SCHOOLS , JUNIOR & DEGREE COLLEGES . more
I heard in news about the subject..Good to know that the govt has considered this point for implementation more
This point still remains overlooked....If govt does something that causes limelight for the people who did something for the country by means of sports, the move will be highly appreciated by the sports enthusiasts adn these people will come in support of the govt... more
This is one of the ways to encourage people's participation in sports....If somebody gets awarded, others also get tempted to perform... It should not be difficult to spend some amount in honourinf the unsung sportsmen more
