Homeshop 18 - a non professional and non caring Company
I would like to narrate an incidence of non cooperative attitude of Home Shop 18 for the benefit of members.
On the basis of their TV ad, we purchased from Home Shop, a Roti Maker HS18 Order NO 958511899 at a cost of Rs 1400/- in Nov 2014. It was found to be a damaged piece. We complained at their cust care number. I was informed over phone which was later confirmed through SMS DT 25.11.2014 that it will be replaced very soon. After that time I have talked to their Cust Care numerous times but no action was taken to replace the damaged piece.
After pursuing the matter for 2-3 months, they provided a telephone no of the manufacturer M/S berg industries, Uttam Nagar for being in touch with them. I pointed out that as per the condition told to us at the time of ordering the product, they will have to replace and we are not to bother about the manufacture, but they did not listen.
However when we contacted the manufacturer, the person told that he will talk to his seniors and to Home Shop. After about one month, I was told that the product can be exchanged by taking it to their factory in Uttam Nagar. Looking to the fact that the value is very less and I will incur a good amount on conveyance only, we dropped the matter and did not pursue the matter.
My purpose of narrating this incident here is to caution the members and also to give a feedback to the concerned authorities to examine whether an administrative authority can be created to control such fraudulent incidents as these may be in lakhs and may not complained by the consumers, the amts being small but the business concerns making huge money by supplying damaged items. more

The purchase is from vendor. Why should the buyer be directed to the manufacturer? I think the home ministry should be given a presentation on the cheating by online vendors and govt directions should be given to police to file a FIR based on complaint and computer/ call data evidence. I appeal to police, criminologists and lawyers to built a case out of this. more

Hello Goel Sir, Homeshop 18 is a Reliance owned company. Hope I dont need to mention further if you ever had an experience with Reliance Mobile services. Issue with ecommerce in India is that most of them work on market place model where they are just front end to the customer. Actual product is sold by some one else. After selling the product, they hardly care about replacing or servicing because of the cost of courier or AMC. Agree that its high time to bring all these giants under the regulatory angle so that consumer rights are protected. Lets hope Modi ji & team will at least take baby steps towards this..
