Himalaya is profiteering
Seems like almost every fmcg company is taking the consumer for a ride by profiteering.
Common product hand sanitizer by Himalaya had its gst rate reduced from 28% to 18% a year back. They did not change the price. Still shows MRP of 175 attached. Earlier also mrp was 175. Should have been brought down to 155 or so. See old pack image attached with MRP 175. more

Some system has to be evolved to ensure that MRP is revised immediately as the GST is changed so that the benefit comes to the customer. Let the revised price list of items on which GST is reduced be displayed at Pay Counters by all retail sellers, even if the MRP on the product is not changed (which is difficult for the items held in stock). And the only way to ensure that the profiteering due to reduction in GST does take place is not merely to impose severe penalties on the defaulters, but to make public pronouncements of such actions. In this case, for example, Himalaya company be penalized and let us all know about the same. Let the big companies, who are defaulting, be the first to receive penalties & publicity. Others will automatically fall in line. However, any step to ignore punishment will indicate to the public that Govt is a party to illegitimate profiteering. more
