HDFC home loans unfair trade practice

Unfair practice by HDFC amid the pandemic. The part payment option on it's site won't work. It wouldn't fix. It forces customers to clear all outstanding EMIs. Those who want to make part payments are forced to turn defaulters. More penalty revenue for bank?

Can consumer affairs or RBI Take this up?? more

I think you should visit the branch and discuss the matter and then raise Grievance. more
What do you mean by part payment is not clear. RBI has already set out rules to declare any loan account NPA (Non Performing Assets) and classify the borrowers defaulters, long back. In the instant case, the borrower should contact the bank in person to know the reasons for the system denying acceptance of payments. The borrowers are supposed to pay EMIs on or before due dates and therefore, where is the question of forcing! Instead, it is the obligation of the borrowers to pay the EMIs on time. If because of the pandemic, the RBI has allowed any concession to the borrowers, they must get it. Refrain from blaming the banks for everything without knowing the facts and figures after getting the works done. This is not a healthy trend any how. more
Firstly write to the bank. If no response received within 15 days, file a complaint yourself with banking Ombudsman who will decide the case within 60 days. If not satisfied, file a complaint with the local Consumer Forum personally by enclosing copy of loan agreement carrying EMI Schedule. They normally decide the cases within 90 days. more
You need to write 4 complaints on the same subject to -1.RBI 2.Banking Ombudsman 3.National Disaster Management Authority. 4. District Consumer Forum. 1, 2 and 3 by email 4th one through on line more
Consumers need to read home loan agreement completely. Please ensure that part payment clause is there in the agreement if not ask the bank to add it. more
