Harmful Pickles

It is true. In addition, the sale and storage of pickles in Plastic bottles/containers can contaminate the pickles with various chemicals. Some of them are quite harmful. This practice needs to be discouraged. We can do so at our end by buying pickles in Glass bottles only. Also, we should ask the Regulators to look into this aspect. more

Very True . Pickles used to be stored only in Khurja Pottery Martbans made from ceramic clay & glasscontsiners later . Khurja Pottery vessels or Brass Vessels tinned were only used in houses , which have vanished now -sad more
We can't imagine a world without plastic. But, continuous usage of plastic harms our health and environment. We must take sincere effort to reduce its use and make others aware of its adverse effects. Try to replace all the possible plastic containers in our house with glass / steel. If you use plastic containers for storing food, buy code numbers 2,4 and 5 only. They are food grade plastics. Code #1 plastic is also safe to use. But it is made for single use. Give it for recycling after use. The containers made with #3 and #7 plastics leaches chemical into the food contained in it. So, strictly avoid using them for storing food. Use eco-friendly products only and save our planet. https://www.indiastudychannel.com/resources/168469-How-to-check-whether-the-plastic-container-is-food-grade.aspx#:~:text=If%20you%20use%20plastic%20containers,They%20are%20food%20grade%20plastics. more
FSSAI should examine and if necessary should take effective action. more
I think if pickles could be marketted packed in Aluminium lining poches like cooking oil pouches , they may be less harmful. At home pickles could be stored in glass/ceremic bottles. more
