Harassment by Housing Finance companies

A friend who took a housing loan from Sriram Housing Finance and till date has not missed an EMI, and does not intend to miss one in the future either. He has been getting 7-8 phone calls from them per day reminding him of his due date. Yesterday a phone call literally threatened him of consequences if He missed a due date.

Can something be done by regulators so such harassment of consumers stops?? more

It is not understood, why phone calls are coming, when there is no overdue. Please check the accuracy of your reporting. more
You can lodge a complaint with the lender in writing. No one
can threat a standard account holder in any manner. If no response received, you can a complaint with the police more
Please advise him to submit complaint on https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/Complaints.aspx more
I am familiar with this scenario. I had used Lister Lab in Chennai for blood tests for both myself and some of my patients with my mobile. I have been getting nuisance calls from them almost on a daily basis advising me to take one test or the other. The same thing happens with both Sun Direct DTH and Jio recharges. They first send text messages almost 5 SMS per day about a week before the expiry date and then from two days before the due date, I get automated phone calls. This is nothing but harassment. more
