GST verification or inspection
I am made to understand that GST authorities are on a verification drive to ensure that real addresses exist and there is a board on the premises and gst number is displayed and there are gst invoices etc.
Here is my concern: how are authorities making sure its a verification drive and not an inspection and bribe collection drive.
Also many offices in tech sector still have few days a week office or work from home. How do u ensure u dont harrass them for no reason? more

Many businesses still transact in cash only or the upi payments go to their personal account. This can be fixed only if the tax authorities go as decoy customers. more

You are absolutely correct, they will demand money for one or the other reason, everytime it is asssured that now online system will erase corruption, but they find out way for corruption later on. Very tragic, no will for corruption free system. more

The root cause of frauds in GST system is provision of Input Tax Credit. If it is removed and GST rates without ITC are announced as was done for Restaurants the need to verify GST registration number will not be there. more
