GST on Dental Products.

I am a practising Dentist/Orthodontist. The problem in GST fixation in dental products is not user friendly. There are thousands of dental products with minor variations and used for various different needs, however the Govt has categorised them generally with no proper know how and the taxes levied are arbitrary. A proper team with complete know-how should be formed with proper knowledge of its usage so that the consumables used for preventive aspects and those used for economically weaker sections can be charged less, which will benefit the public at large. Also there should be some Insurance systems in Dentistry also. more

Dear Doctor The problem with HSN code is that of manufacturer. You dont have to worry about the HSN. Majority of the items delat with you will be in 18% GST more
Respected Doctor, The problems faced by Dr. Nalini C.M. [Orthodontist, Service Provider and Instructor for MRC,Australia are very genuine and are PRACTICAL PROBLEMS, who has NO time to look for HSN code. If she approaches a GST consultant or a GST practitioner or a CA, she may have pay a hefty fee. If she goes to a Central Taxes Officer, HE WILL CONSULT HIS FRIEND CA OR CONSULTANT. Ulitimately her cash flow is same. What the GOI have done is, EASE OF DOING BUSINESS TO consultants or gst practitioners or a CAs, and layman is worst affected. BUT IN INDIA WHO IS BOTHERED. The above professionals will thank the ministers and GST council for enhancing their sources of income by way of GST consultancy. I myself has a "sweet experience" at Hyderabad. I approached Hyderabad office of a New Delhi based "in-direct taxes lawfirm and consultants, and asked them the procedure under GST for re-export of imported items, back to the overseas manufacturer. Only one question. After I asked the question, the firms local office "responded" , NOT with an answer, but placed a copper plate in front of me and demanded RS. 22000.00 FOR ONE SINGLE QUESTION. AFTER THIS INCIDENCE, I WAS ABLE TO REACH THE CUSTOMER OFFICERS AT A VERY LITTLE KNOWN AIRPORT, VIZ., TIRUCHIRAPALLI AND GOT THE CORRECT ANSWER. , Sri Alagar Srinivasan has made a practical suggestion, and if you decide to accept the suggestion, , please spend some time and draw a 100% accurate list of ALL ITEMS USED BY DENTAL PROFESSIONALS, [ INCLUDING DIES, MOULDS, DENTURE-MOULDING POWDER, DENTAL TOOLS, MINIATURE PUMPS, SHADOW-LESS LAMPS, DENTIST CHAIRS, WATER HANDLING SYSTEMS, PNEUMATIC EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS, .......[SORRY I CANNOT LIST OUT ALL ITEMS BECAUSE I AM A SCREW DRIVER FELLOW.[CHARTERED ENGINEER WITH A PARTICLE OF CUSTOMS & ERSWHILE CENTRAL EXCISE KNOWLEDGE]. I AM NOT A FEE LEVYING PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMS MAN. If Dr. Nalini can prepare the list in detail and mail it to me, I may be able to insert the HSN code, and duty calculations, and GST burden. My assistance is free. and there will be no financial burden. The only point is Dr.hs to spend her valuable time in list preparation. Incidentally, finding the appropriate job can be easiliy done by tecthnical persons, and, they have the technical concepts of the item. e.e., I know the composition of dental cement or denture moulds. . My mail ID is chandran75@gmail.com. Have a successful day. M.BALACHANDRAN CHARTERED ENGINEER AT HYDERABAD. more
We have to see the HSN code & Rate of Tax of the products. Better represent GST council. more
