GST ON COOPERATIVE HOUSING SOCITIES

Sir, Can anyone suggest me regarding GST applicability on Housing Cooperative Societies? We have a Housing Cooperative Society of 890 flats of LIG & MIG flats of which land was given to the promoters at a very cheap rate from the Govt of West Bengal. The monthly maintenance Bill is around 1250/- We only charge from the members the Salary paid to Staff(outsourced). Conservancy/Sewerage maintenance etc. We first pay to the concerned parties/persons and then charge to members of the Society. Annual Maintenance bill comes to Rs. 85/90 Lacks besides we charge Car parking & hiring of community Hall for any celebrations of the Members & their family. GST applicable to the Society? more

OFFHAND With a view to providing some info., -out of a whole lot of those available in public domain,- in the hope of being found by you personally useful, furnish the Links below, to look up: http://citizenmatters.in/gst-rwa-apartment-maintenance-charges-5004 https://www.facebook.com/swaminathanv3/posts/1493041144105500?pnref=story For knowing more, especially in regard to the field realities in your native state, - no need to add- you will be well advised to scout around and find out the state of affairs, through say, search of local social websites, so also Google; apart from your housing society and self, consulting a competent professional of eminence and adequate special exposure through field practice. more
In my opinion, no service should be exempt from GST. Exemption of this kind make people reqork their incomes and expenses to try and gain some improper advantage somewhere. Let the rate be just 55, but should be charged, uniformly to all such services. more
GST is not applicable to your society as your cost of sourcing goods and services is less than Rs. 5000/- per month per member. more
Thanks to Mr. Pande for his accurate reply. more
