GST input on import

If someone import any material through courior and the same is cleared in courior mode at New Delhi Airport terminal then he cannot get input benefit of IGST paid as the Delhi port is not linked to ECCS system nor it have any port code. So you cannot file GSTR-2 also for that shipment. Govt should first bring their house in order before implementing such a big change. more

Yogendra ji - If there is no port code then BOE detail cannot be filed in GSTR-2. Hence input credit cannot be claimed. more
Individuals have an option of filing a bill of entry in courier mode if they want to avail credit. This provision has been in existence since long and was applicable in pre-GST regime also. Please check. more
It is agreed that some changes would be required in GST Rules, but one must also understand that specific issues cannot be dealt with right from day one. I am sure many such matters would get highlighted and also would get resolved in a few months. The F< has himself stated this. So let us cooperate and see how things work out. Anyway, if you have specific issues, why don't you contact the Finance Ministry or My Gov? more
GST could have been implemented for the corporates and then slowly moved on to MSMEs and other vendors. This could have setaside a lot of hardship both for the Govt and for the taxpayer. As corporates have a huge resource of both manpower and Money to face challenges and also get away from the hardships. But the small vendors anjd MSMEs who are mostly one man management find this GST not only confusing but also ruining their business. more
I agree with Sri. Padam fully. Implementing an uniform tax schedule like GST in a big and peculiar country like India is a big challenge. It was really courageous of Modi and his team to have taken it for implementation. Given the vast area and the number of people involved, there may be many difficulties and mistakes and these will be corrected in the due course. GST as a principle is excellent for the country, and there may be some small problems for all of us; given the benefits it gives to the whole country as a whole , we must all cooperate for it to settle down, increase the tax payers net, and consequently reduce the burden on just a few. The overall tax rates will also be brought down in steps to come to an affordable 10%, if the tax payers increase tremendously. more
