GST Inpur credit

In case of rentals of office unit where the tenant is paying the monthly rentals along with 18 percent GST,can we as an owner claim GST input credit at the time of filing monthly GSTR3B towards routine office maintenance like painting once in 3 years.Can we claim GST input credit on paint and putty materials. Similarly routine electrical maintenance electrical spares and plumbing spares air conditioners repairs and maintenance in this office etc. can we claim GST input on all these routine repairs and maintenance works carried out.on the billstowards electric spares and plumbing spares on painting and putty material bill.Kindly advice. more

yes you can claim ITC of all repairs, panting cost etc provided that you have not capitalised these expenses in your books of Account. As per section 17(5) any expenses on immoveable property (other than plant and machinery) cannot be claimed as input tax credit. more

Yes, renting owned or leased business complex where rent is more than or = Rs.10,000 pm, the supply is taxable@18% and I>T.C. can be claimed on possession of valid tax invoice, genuine receipt of inward supply as such supply receipt like maintenance service,AC maintenance service, inward receipt of paints,putty etc are not forbidden by S.17 of the G.S.T. Act. more  
As long as you have received GST Invoices (stating your GST Registration Number, included in the GST Return of your Vendors) for your expenses, you can claim the Credit in your Returns. Credit is allowed only for GST reflected in the Returns of the Vendor. more  
In case of rent paid for the office can be claimed for ITC. ITC can also be claimed for the repair and maintenance cost of the registered office. Please note as per section 17 (5) ITC cannot be claimed MAINLY for car rental and hotel bills of a normal buisness. more
