the property transactions are easily tracked but not the money which exchanges hands in cash whether it is commission , black money as part of sale / purchase . Rental commission , owners earning rent in cash is untraceable no GST or income certification , their is a lot of money in cash transacted at every level in property related business even bribes for conversion of propety from lease to freehold , illegal changes in will/ property ownership at Land and development offices , Municipal offices, illegal Maps of buildings being pased and deals done by big/ small builders for starting a society camous etc list is endless more
Government has to ensure income before it can spend on the country's development projects. Two saliant sources of this revenue are the Income Tax and the GST. Despite the Law being in place, millions of shopkeepers openly declare that they do not have the facility for e-payment.
