Govt is taking missteps and messing up repeatedly on Delhi

Yesterday again. 6,608 new Covid19 cases reported and 118 new deaths and the funny thing is despite the Govt saying they will do 1 lakh RT-PCR tests they only did 23507 tests. This is because they are scared that if they do 1 lakh RTPCR tests we will see 15000 positives in a day.

Then look at the attached notification in additon to mask fine of 2000 the smarts in Delhi Govt have added four more things like spitting pan gutka, social distancing and what not. After banning pan gutka 4 years later it still sells and people take hafta. By doing this its diluting the importance of the mask cause.

Utterly foolish. more

Delhi Govt along with the central govt. has created one of the best infras for free testing. It is true that fine is steep but so is the charges for RT PCR test. Free testing at centres is one of the major reason of the high no. of testing being conducted in Delhi NCR region. Delhi is congested plus daily travelling of millions from surrounding regions for work makes the problem even more complex. There is a remarkable change as instead of balming each other Hon'ble LG and CM are working together to get Delhi out of crisis. The festive season rush to markets, pollution, winter weather aggravated the problem in third wave. Steps that might be taken: Weekend Curfew like Ahmedabad. Restricting use of metro from Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad. Advisory to companies to encourage work from Home. Cinemas may be shut. As such no new releases in pandemic. Night curfew to restrict Nightlife. from 25th dec marriage functions are a big challenge. Using all resources to send clear message to hotels banquets resorts to not flout the rules. Distribution of free masks to first time offenders instead of challans. Public needs sympathy, benevolence, help not punishments. more
Really today also Gutka spitting is not controlled as it involve major population who are hardly bothered of spitting anywhere. Concerned agency staff 100,%must be consuming and so no action till date. RTPCR test being done but are results correct. Mask distribution must also be done by NGO who claim to work for society but at this juncture not coming forward. The volunteers must educate the citizens ,drivers on road to wear mask and give mask free of cost in the interest of society. Yes mask are available in mkt at cost of just 20Rs. Heavy fine must be imposed on those seen even chewing gutka as ultimately they will spit somewhere otherwise in public wash basin blocking drains. Let's join compaign in Delhi and creat awareness to wear mask and stop eating gutka. Paanwala are keeping it in small bags and sell on high prices ,whereas shop has sticker giving message Not to eat Gutka. Rajan Gupta more
On 20 November 2020 the tests of RT-PCR/CBNAAT etc. still represent nearly 40% of total tests done which in turn was more than 62000. Both indices are perhaps the highest so far. more
The test of RT-PCR/CBNAAT etc. still represent nearly 40% of total tests done which in turn was more than 62000. Both the proportion of non-RAT tests and total tests are perhaps the highest so far. And would have captured positivity quite well. The positive tests dropped to 6600 from 7500 in one day and the positivity rate dropped to 10.5% from 12% the previous day and an alarming 15% a few days ago. It must also be remembered that RT-PCR is a test that is slow to give results and more complex to carry out. A large increase in RT-PCR tests could affect the volume of total DAILY tests conducted in Delhi which is now among the highest in the country. more
