Good step by EPF

Employer attestation no longer required on PF withdrawals

Moving a step closer to online settlement of PF withdrawal claims, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has allowed its subscribers to file their applications directly to the retirement fund body without employers' attestation.

At present, subscribers submit their claims regarding provident fund withdrawals manually through their current or former employers. The attestation of the forms was mandatory for the purpose.

This facility will be available to all those subscribers whose universal (or portable PF) account number (UAN) is activated and seeded with KYC details like bank account and Aadhaar number.

"The facility of filing withdrawal claims directly to EPFO will help us eventually launching facility for settling such applications online. We hope that now we would be able to launch the online PF withdrawal facility within this fiscal," EPFO's Central Provident Fund Commissioner, K K Jalan, told PTI.

"Employees whose details like Aadhaar Number and Bank Account Number have been seeded in their UAN and whose UAN have been activated, may submit claims in Form-19, Form-lOC and Form 31 directly to the Commissioner without attestation of their employers for fast settlement of claims.. direction be made operational with immediate effect," said the EPFO office order issued on Tuesday.

However, claims will be submitted manually by subscribers directly to the respective provident fund commissioners.

Subscribers filing their claims directly without employers' attestation would have to use new forms 19 UAN, l0-C UAN and 31 UAN. These new forms are of half a page size compared to two to three pages applications used at present for withdrawal of PF. more

My sirs, making mere on line provisions will not make any department efficient. There has been lots of hype about UAN I have my UAN No and also it is registered. But There is nothing about my EPS-95 pension for which I am struggling since 2013 it self! At least I have got the worst experience of EPFO office Bhubaneswar. Here no body is accountable for anything and they are expert in rejection only. I feel form 10-D should also be made simpler and its online submission. In fact, it is the duty of the EPFO to complete all the formalities of pensioners prior to the eligible age of 58 years and then mail the person to complete online form and upload the required documents. Here they just told me that your pension details of previous establishment is not available with us when I submitted form 10-D and then it was my duty to get it transferred to Bhubaneswar office. Even after transferring all the details to Bhubaneswar office then also my form 10-D has been rejected by them. more
