Give up, why they are not?

In the recent time we have seen Give up slogan for LPG subsidy, Railway concession etc., and our hon'ble prime minister is appreciating the citizens for the same.
My questing here is, it is fine citizens are giving up benefits but what about the parliamentarians and legislators. It is a known fact many of our parliamentarians are very very wealthy persons, who earned sufficient for generations and still earning. Why they can not give up their subsidy benefit, pension etc., and set an example for common citizens and inspire them?
Is it not going to inspire Indians when our parliamentarians give up benefits voluntarily! more

I think there perks & benefits are much more than there salaries, which give them feeling like extra ordinary person. more
The citizens emulate their Leaders in almost all aspects of life. Unfortunately, the Indian Leaders breed feel they are above everything -the rules, the laws, the ethos etc. thus, they are setting bad examples and contributing for the rising evils in the country. more
Gross mistake was in introducing the Provision of Subsidy without Limitation of Economic Status that need. All issues shall not be construed to be under the ambit of Article 14 . Gas like issues are to be only to those economically supported. Such are not to be included under the provisions of PDS . Pension is an issue which shall be covered strictly on the basis of period Service Rendered which was carried in the pension under P.F. Pension of those rendered service in Military Services which had its own mandates for joining for any emergency call by the Military Authority . Sri S.N.Sitaram is very correct . Pension etc., retirement benefits to Politicians also to be set to be worked out based on the period of Service etc., that to be worked out at par with the Servicemen in the Private Sector under P.F. Pension Scheme more
