maybe small entrepreneurs from poor families can be encouraged to run small scale recycling facilities which are in close proximity to garbage areas where they are dumped...this is a huge menace..garbage attracts wild dogs and tramps and spreads diseases..it may not be feasible to construct huge underground dumps everywhere as someone could fall inside and it seems burning drastically increases air pollution and smog.. more

Solid waste management is not handled by State governments very effectively. System should be established to collect wastes and garbages regionwise and burn them then and there instead of dumping garbages in one place causing health and environmental hazards to the people living nearby. A central team should visit Ariyamangalam compost yard in Trichy. more
