FSSAi not utilizing funds

I read today in paper that Fssai is underutilizing funds allocated to it. This is worrying.

FSSAI may want to consider roping in influencers and volunteers in different states of India who can act as eyes and years on the ground. I am sure with all the people regustered in here, many would be willing to report things on ground, coordinate issues with food safety controller/inspector as long as the basic costs of these volunteers are remibursed.

Years ago platforms like these digital circles weren't there. Now its come to this and future will be even better.

good idea to involve the public in this process of reducing malpractices in food. Due publicity of phone numbers ,web site and e mail id where the complaints are to be given is required. Display of such information in the places like road side hotels may be useful. more
most of the govt officials are owner of big company. Hence they not tacking any interest to safeguard common people. more
Foods & Drinks are omnipresent. Practically, any person can open an eatery or a cool drink shop anywhere and that needs no permission from anyone. Many places in India where national & international tourists visit such shops opens up and close down without anybody's knowledge. Since there is no pricing mechanism play there, on spot demand and supply allows the vendors to charge anything affordable by the tourists at that point of time. To control such an omnipresent activities we should have an omnipresent control mechanism. With the advent of the internet and our central Govt.'s digital initiative FSSAI should widely publish the methodology to inform the public and bring in awareness among them to consume foods/drinks only from such shops that are registered under FSSAI. Such vendors should display in front of their shop their registered FSSAI license number. Users can login into FSSAI website and verify the licenses. A provision at the site to register customer's feedback will help authorities to monitor the performance of such shops. Thanks more
