FSSAI needs to have clear guidelines
Saw this recent announcement from fssai which says food items should not have toys inside as some children tend to eat them too (choking risk)
However, where fssai fails us in saying states are encouraged to discourage this practice.
Why not just have a straight penalty. 1 crore fine and license suspension for 6 months. End of story. All food mfg will follow.
By issuing soft instructions no one really benefits other than a corrupt food inspector more
Child foods shuld be nutrious, not bought by toys marketing skills. more
Food items, where toys were given as a gift, should be stopped. Let there be strict instructions without any relaxation. more
THE ISSUE IS AGAINST AN AUTHORITY OF INDIA AS READ . If every authority has to go to the parliament why appoint authority at all . In that case their Designation could have been some thing other than Authority . more
Another instrument to make money. more
Such toys (example Kinder-joy) are banned in some developed countries because of the choking hazard. We should do the same more
