FSSAI applies to those who do not care?

Does FSSAI apply to the footpath side vendors who cook and sell fast food including blood red Chinese items, Vada Pavs made from "who knows which Oil", multiple types of Dosas minting atleast Rs.5,000 average on a daily basis?

These vendors do not care for any licenses, VAT registration, Income Tax payment and the Gas cylinders are lying on the road.
Does permission of the Fire Officer apply to them?

The BMC Officials are as usual getting their share on time.

Why is the VAT department and the IT department not allotting them registration numbers and monitoring this multi-Crore business ?

How have these operators converted the "Foodpaths" and alleys into restaurants without applying for the god-forsaken "Change of User" rule which strangely applies only in Maharashtra state?

How long will Corruption rule?

Does FSSAI, BMC, Fire Brigade care? more

Please note that FSSAI applies to street vendors of eatables as well. Number one problems is the problem of scale in the implementation of the Rules under the FSSAI Act. Number two is the behaviour of the consumer out in the street to eat, not bothering about the food standards. This in fact reflect the consumers' own behaviour, taste and value. So long as there is demand for the quality of food from the street vendors, there is quality consciousness in the food vendors also. The only solution is in the punishment to the street vendors supply poor unhygienic food and that is, BOYCOTT THEM. STOP TAKING FOOD ITEMS FROM THEM AT THE COST OF YOUR HEALTH. more
I think most of these vendors are surviving due to local police, to whom they pay Rs 20 or Rs 50 everyday right from a Pani Puri Seller at a corner, Pan shop fellow in every nook and corner of the streets, the roadside eateries that are opened in many places without licences et all. We first need to ensure that the police don't harass these guys without licences and these guys should also be informed to have the shops operated only if they have a license rather than paying bribes to police and local gangs or whoever demands money. more
Please wait as concerned authorities are busy seeking inputs from members of Local circles for publishing and they will act after compilation. more
Corruption and vote bank politics are the root causes of many ills infested in our society. Every city/town is full of such food vendors with no check on quality. All sorts of dust/harmful particles are eaten with such foods. The quality of inputs is again a grey area. If the politicians keep their hands off and Health Authorities start working honestly, there will be visible improvement in this area. more
In Mumbai , people eat more on footpaths than hotels, I support Mr mahesh Engineer and want Govt to make necessary rules and regulations for footpath vendors before any untoward happen and people die. more
