France Social security transfer to EPF on return

Hello,

This is regarding Indians working in France contributing to French social security system.

Once they return to India, how is the contributions done to social security in form of pension allowance gets transferred to Indian PF account?

Anyone already undergone such procedures?

Thanks, more

Social Security of different countries are independent and they cannot be made applicable to other countries, if the foreign nationals working in other countries do get the benefits in that country after superannuation. In the meantime if somebody wants repatriates back to his own country before superannuation, he will not be eligible for social security benefits except refunding him back the contributions as defined in the rules. more
* I recall some of my colleagues in Japan relating to me that the social security amounts in their credit were* *refunded to them by the Japanese authorities by bank instrument and credited to their account. Bank later* *took a dim view of their retaining the amount innocently, and took them to task since the payments were* *contributed by the Bank and it was felt the amount should have been returned to the Bank. * *Hence it is better to consult the concerned employers in this matter. * *Regards,* *L.Kalavathi* *Retired Bank Official* *Chennai,Tamilnadu, India* *15th Feb 2017* *Reply to Shri Vinayak Singh* On Wed, Feb 15, 2017 at 5:17 PM, Vinayak Singh wrote: > more
Though I have no experience of it, my common sense says that there must be some form of agreement between the governments of France and India on such issue. If not, obtain a certificate from the French Government/Employer to the last contribution and the balance available in your account. Then approach the Indian External Affairs Ministry (FCRA Branch) for permission to transfer the funds to your account in India. The French account, if there is no agreement between the two governments, may not get transferred to the Indian EPFO - starting a new account. It is also likely that you are questioned by the Income Tax Department for deductions. more
