Food-Adulteration!

If I would have been designated on a post where I could be a part of governance for helping India empowerment and development, then my first concern would be to stop the Food- Adulteration. Food is the primary need of human being and our all the efforts lie somehow to earn bread and butter…….but in today’s India it is rare to find healthy or without adulteration food…….Take any normal food from any open area, it would not be pure!

What are we doing and where are we going, if we are not stopping this adulteration, which is brining everybody near to death slowly…….If we are not healthy, we cannot bring the nation upward and everything is useless to discuss before crossing this border……before cleaning or sanitizing anything just clean up the adulteration from the consumables. (Food, Drugs…etc)

Kindly take a step and build the center/controller in every village/town/city/metros, who can have the quick local survey about FOOD-ADULTERATION and take appropriate rapid action against any in discrepancy.

I am in, if I could be a part of such innovation,

Thanks,
Rajeev more

I would also like to add the huge amount of pesticide and herbicide added to the food and those poisons are origin of many different diseases. more
Few insight to stop food adulteration is let us make sure that no Food item can be sold on Road. make mandatory to display a card who sell food "authorized by Govt of India food safety and health ministry" with the grading of food items as *,**,***, . Food inspectors accountability if any food adulteration if noticed in their area of jurisdiction. List of pesticides and fertilizers which a farmer can use to produce the food quality crops. All milk based products to be having the date of packaging/ expiry date, and source of procurement. Again if any adulteration in the packaging of any milk product, edible oil is found the food inspection department should be accounted for. more
Food adulteration need to be checked fast at all levels of distribution of food products in view of fast rise in killer diseases like cancer etc. Educate people widely about these risks through regular telecasts, broadcasts and newspaper prints. Involvement of school children in awareness campaigns will be more effective. more
Sri Rajeev I was hoping someone will take up this point. This food adulteration is primarily an urban phenomenon. Most of the sufferers of this menace are also urban people. As such , the government must enact rules that apply to such population only. The village community is rather an interdependant one with few commodities coming from outside. There the consumption is done straight from the field. In such a scenario, if you and the like argue for a blanket law, then the union government may take up a law which will be disastrous for the rural community. A classic example is the 1998 law banning all unpacked oil. This was done after the 1998 scam in delhi when a supposedly adulterated mustard oil affected many people. This law crippled many rural communities where villages press their own mustard seeds and use the oil themselves or sell to nearby vilages. This mustard oil industry was a livelyhood for millions before this black law was enacted. I see adulteration as an urban phenomenon and typically has to be dealt with territory wise. Not on an omnibus scale. Venkatasubramanian more
