Fleecing & poor service by Uber & Ola cabs

During my last trip to Bangalore I had to use cabs extensively for my movement within city.
I have tried Uber, Ola & Meru for my movement.
Meru was rarely available. But they have fixed charges. Uber & Ola most of the time trying to fleece the customers by putting multiplication factor of 3.2X, 3X, 2.8X, 2.2X, 1.8X, 1.5X etc. As per the official stand goes they are trying to improve the profitability of the drivers for better availability of Cabs. in reality they have invented this to fleece the customers. These App based aggregators does not follow any rules. There is no control on them. Whenever Auto or Kali pili Taxis asks for extra money over and above the fixed meter rate they can be challaned or prosecuted. But Uber and Ola does it in a sophisticated way and it becomes a business model. No state government in our country has any problem with this.
To top it all if they give an option of say 1.5X and for some reason you take some time ( may be one minute) then invariably it will go up may be 2.2X or 3.0X. It appears software has been built that way. These all are happening when one can see availability is not an issue. In this aspect my experience Uber is the worst. Ola may be a tad better.
Uber is advertising saying people should not own cars rather depend on them for their movement. I want to share my experience on that. I booked an Uber car for 1.5X and it gave me an waiting time of 11 mins to arrive. After waiting for more than 15 mins I called up the driver and found that he crossed my location. I requested him to come back but he said he does not want to come back and asked me to cancel the booking. I said I am ready to wait for him. After another 15 mins he cancelled the booking by himself. I sent an email complaint to Uber ( they don't believe in call centre because they are not interested to listen to dissatisfied customers) and the reply comes " Nothing can be done. Drivers are on their own and Uber simply connects customers with cab drivers". What a great way of doing business
1. No responsibility 2. fleecing customers.
All in the name of embracing advanced technology platform or mere aggregators more

Each time we must send a written report to police with full details. If the problem is not addressed we have to look for other alternative. Perhaps this happens only in Bangalore. more
There must be a mechanism to set the upper limit of the charges. Once you get hooked to these players, they are going to exploit you. Even now, you have to pay 2-3 times in crunch situation. Govt must regulate them. more
I agree with Mr. Subodh Gupta that Uber rate of Rs. 8/Km is too low. But reality is quite different. I will give only one example. If I start giving more example it will be boring. I travelled from Koramangla to Bellandur by UBERGO a distance of 7.04 Km and trip time was 17:28 mins. Fare breakdown 1. Base fare Rs. 35/- 2. Distance Rs. 49.31/- 3. Time Rs. 17.47/-. Normal fare( Sum of 1,2,3)= Rs 101.78 Surge x 2.3 = Rs.132.31 Total Rs. 234.09 for a distance of 7.04km. In other wards Rs.33.25/Km more
All such things are allowed to freely happen in India because of our governments' insensibility towards the citizens' plights. They wake up and act only when adequate public pressure is created and they become scared of losing the power vested in them through ballot papers. more
The whole system became gutter and our experience became topic for chit chat more
