Five men convicted of abducting, robbing and raping a 52-year-old Danish woman here in 2014 were sentenced to life imprisonment till death by a trial court on Friday.
I do not understand what purpose would be served by keeping the convicts in prison till death for which tax payer's money is used. So in effect it amounts to a punishment to taxpaying public It would have been better to award death sentence in such cases which will act as a deterrent for others.
There are some human rights people who are against death penalty. However these people show no concern for the human rights of victims of the crime.

Society should evolve methods to avoid rape. No punishment is sufficient deterrent, since it happens even with harsh law. more

Since decades many Cases where a reconsideration by the Executive of the Executive will only help multiplicity of Crimes against Society and even the Nation ALSO HAVE BEEN SET SO . Sri Mohit Pande' s findings that stands even as a demand are absolutely correct and confine to real carry of Justice in the Nation and to the Society as a whole . The Politicians and the governing Bodies of the country should have really set the age of 14 to punish the Rapists instead of allowing those possessing such such acts befitted by the so called Majors . This itself is the injustice to the very Purpose , Objective and the code of penal procedure . It is in deed such an incomplete / leaving loop holes in punishing / and also stands such other Acts that only still stand for the TEXT AND NOT THE PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE WHOLE ACT awarding allowances and relaxations to the public that may opt at their own selfish interest like the very Land Ceiling Act etc., which in deed stood anti national leaving off huge wealth in the hands of those some always work to Escape . I also strictly support the correct aim and goal of the Post please . For rapist - they should be given a dozen strokes of the cane- they do this in Singapore, then released after it is done. more

While in jail the convicts with connections get paroles. Live examples in Manu Sharma or Sanjay Dutt cases and many more. Political leaders run their rackets from jails even more securely and politicians openly meet them and hold meetings with them without shame. What is the use of such jail terms. more
