fast tag is useful only when anyone uses the National Highways which are tolled. But can it be imposed by effectively requiring a prepayment for toll road facility which may or may not be used ? I am doubtful. No consumer can be asked to compulsorily prepay a charge falling due in future, which is what fasttag is all about. Somebody can move Consumer fora for this. more
one can make a sensor and take out small amounts thinking that people may not have time complain for small amounts. this can be done at parking lots as well. more
just as some Fraud could take place at Parking lot is not a reason to protest on FASTAG, but the repeated charges on IN-OUT of a Toll gate within certain time of day should be automatically checked in server and appropriate charges only be collected instead repeated cahrges within 24 hrs of usage of same TOLL GATE within a local area. more
It is not compulsory but one has to wait for long for cash payment in toll plaza. Indirectly there is compulsion. At the time of getting the tag, charges is Rs 100 plus GST and refundable deposit of Rs 200. It is sufficient, the card can be easily charged by many ways before usage more
