Farmers continuously going in loss

These days I am in my home town Khagaria, Bihar. While talking to people here,I came to know that in their views after NDA government assumed office they are undergoing more and more loss in agriculture.
I verified it with my grand father,Shri Surendra Singh (Village-Saharkundi ,Post-Thatha,Thana-Mansi,District-Khagaria), who is a farmer,he was also of the same view. He said that after NDA government came into power fertilizers, irrigation service and seed became more costly. And selling price of maize crop went down.
In UPA time they used to purchase DAP at ₹1000/50kg,irrigation was ₹120/hour, seed was ₹1000/4kg.
Now DAP is ₹1200/50kg,irrigation is ₹140/hour and seed is ₹1400/4kg.Moreover they have not got even a single coin as crop damage compensation.
Earlier they used to sell maize at ₹1200-₹1400/quintal but now they have to sell it at ₹900-₹1000/quintal.
The scene is clear that farmers are continuously going in loss and under the burden of debt. You will say that now they can take loan from bank but corruption in banking sector is major hurdle for them.
Although NDA government can boast of making India a better place to invest but what about a state like Bihar where more than 80% population is dependent on agriculture.
The problem of farmers should be solved. I hope soon some positive steps will be taken by the government for the welfare of farmers more

The middlemen are either influential politicians or one backed by the same. As such removal of middlemen is impossible. So the talk of inflation is under control and that the prices of food items have come down is just to fool the public. more
Higher food bill The sharpest spike has been in pulses. The price of Arhar (tur), for instance, is up 47 per cent this year, according to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Urad dal sells in the Mumbai retail market for ₹123/kg, up from ₹79 last year. Similarly, the prices of moong, masoor dal and gram are up. Other protein supplements such as milk and egg have also turned costlier. The price of an egg in Mumbai has risen 28 per cent over the past year to ₹4.36, according to the National Egg Co-ordination Committee. Egg prices in other States have also gone up by a similar extent. The prices of dairy products are hurting, as larger players such as Amul and Mother Diary hiked the prices of toned milk by 5-6 per cent to ₹36-38/litre in May last year. http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/economy/who-said-inflation-is-down/article7339453.ece If the farmers are not getting it, then it is the middlemen pocketing it. more
It is high time central govt must look this immediately in view of impending elections. If this is the perception amongst farmers & public it is difficult to win the state election. Whether it is due to BJP govt in center or RJD govt in state. BJP must make it very clear whose is the culprit. If it is central govt they must immediately take corrective action. If it is due to state govt, BJP must educate the farmers about this to change their perception. It is strange that only input cost have risen where as output prices have come down. Since the farm price has declined whether the final price in the market has also declined? if yes, why people blame the prices are rising. If not, middle men are making too much money. What action state or central govt is taking on such middle men. more
