Farmers Agitation

The farmers are agitating for the last 20 days against the New Farm Laws passed bt the Parliament.
Government may consider taking following steps to end the agitation by farmers:
1. Keep new farm laws in abeyance for a year. This will help farmers to return to their homes.
2. States to be persuaded to enact laws or issue Ordinance incorporating provisions of Central Laws which are beneficial to farmers. States are allowed to frame laws on Agriculture under Constitution.
This step will give on hand experience to farmers to appreciate the benefits available to them to increase their income.

There is always a resistance to change. therefore the above steps will help. more

Yes, that seems to be the reason for resistance. Conflict usually leads to improvement, since old ways are questioned, and the stakeholders get educated. For example, many farmers need education on the benefits of biodiversification in agriculture. Perhaps government must push this ahead more specifically too. Also ealing with stubble rather than simply burning issue, which may be addressed now, during these protests. After all the parties concerned, farmers and government, have gotten talking or available for talks now. more
