Facts about Swine Flu

Swine Flu is spreading again friends. Facts you should know about the disease:

Swine flu or H1N1 type A influenza is transmitted from people and NOT from pigs or swines.
If you have normal immunity, you may not be prone to swine flu.

People who are at high-risk include very young children, pregnant women, diabetics, people with heart conditions and those whose immune systems may be weak and compromised.

Sudden fever of more than 100 degree Fahrenheit, fatigue, chills, headaches, cough and sneezing, sore throat, diarrhoea, loss of appetite are some of the symptoms of swine flu.

One cannot exactly know that he/she is suffering from swine flu because the symptoms are very similar to regular flu. If you have very high fever for more than a day or two, sudden breathlessness, you should contact your doctor immediately.
If you already have fever, it’s better to stay at home in order to prevent the disease from spreading.

Always cover your face while coughing and sneezing. Avoid touching your face, nose and eyes often. It can also spread through inanimate objects like the mobile phone, laptop etc. which we end up frequently using. So, it’s better to avoid using others’ belongings. In case of sore throat, gargle with warm salt water.

It is possible to prevent swine flu. Maintain your health and immunity well. Eat healthy food, get good sleep, avoid stress. Avoid visiting crowded public places if you can. If you do visit them, wash your hands and feet well. Better still, just take a shower.

Though injectable vaccines (Influvac, Agrippal, Vaxigrip, Vaxiflu-S and Fluarix) against swine flu are available, the Government has ruled out universal vaccination for now and has recommended that it be used only for people who are actively treating the swine flu patients (doctors and other medical practitioners).

Swine flu can only be diagnosed for sure in labs. It is diagnosed by identifying the particular antigens associated with the virus type. In general, this test is done in a specialized laboratory and is not done by many doctors’ offices or hospital laboratories. However, doctors’ offices are able to send specimens to specialized laboratories if necessary.

There are certain antiviral drugs which help treat swine flu - Zanamivir (Relenza) and Oseltamivir (Tamiflu). One should take these only with a doctor’s prescription since indiscriminate use could lead to resistance to the virus. The patient will need to hospitalized, isolated and put on a ventilator in severe cases. more

I have done lot of research on as how to prevent common cold & if already caught with flu ,how to cure it as early as possible. All flu are due to over exposure to excessive cold. Some personsare more susceptival to cold.Coldness of body parts causes reflex running of nose /swelling of nasal mucosa on which virus can multiply if favourable condition like low temp is available.Once the virus multiplies in nasl mucosa in large number it spreads quickly through blood to all parts of body specially skin & tissues which are more cold. The multiplication of viruses in the cells ruptures them leading to out flow of the cytoplasm which in turn presses the nerve endings causing pain & sqeezes the capillary circulation causing chills. & COLDNESS OF THE PARTS.All of us must have experienced intractable coldness of body parts which do not get warm even if we cover our selves with two blankets or more.In all our medical books it is clearly mentioned that body should be kept warm but how to keep it actuallywarm is not known to any body. For this i have tried to wear multiple woolen socks in legs, wrapped woolen muflers on the socks & tied it tightly with crepe bandage as if the legs are plastered tightly with woolen clothes.Whole body is covered with thick blankets & pressure is applied mannually as well as by keeping heavy cotton pillows on different body parts so that good contact is made of all body parts with woolen blankets. The head is covered with two woolen caps & furthe covered with a thick sweater & pressue is applied mannually to make good contact. With this the body becomes warm sooncausing restoration of capillary circulation which prevents multiplication of virus due to high unfavourable temperature of body parts & eating up of viruses by the macrophages in blood thus curing the patient & aborting the flu attack in few hours.Even in swine flu patients ,if this technique is applied there can be lot of benefit & lifes can be saved .Every case of cold or flu should take the above measures to get releif quickly . more
Thanks or a valuable info. We all should propagate this to large no. for info and eduacation. more
