Exporting from India - Inputs on Issues

Dear Friends:

India with its low cost of operating a business can do much more when it comes to exports to global markets.

With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on all the issues that limit Indian exports to rest of the world.

Once we know the Issues, we will do a discussion on Root Causes and Solutions and then submit a whitepaper to Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Finance so the bottlenecks can be reduced and Indian exports can achieve their true potential.

I look forward to your inputs!

Just wondering how many brand new software made in India are sold in the world market. I think there is a huge potential there - we are good at IT, we have large IT professionals poo and talent. What we need is - new ideas, impressive design and aggressive marketing teams. Software/Apps still have a huge market, and the profit margin is very good. Engineering services also is in huge demand. Electronic manufacturing, well we have to learn from a small country like Korea. Instead of exporting low profit margin products like rice, tea, clothes and nut-bolts, we need to focus on high-end products that bring in large profit with minimum natural resources. Quality we have to learn from Japan, Germany, Switzerland and Korea. For example what the pharmaceutical companies have done in India is praiseworthy, in Africa people love Indian medicine. We can do the same in all important branches of technology. Sadly, we buy junk e.g. soft drinks loaded with sugar and color, junk food loaded with salt and oil and are ruining the health of our next generation. We know we have major diabetes problem in India, then why allow such junk? Where is our ethics? We know importing so much crude oil is destroying our environment and economy, then why not copy solar cells technology? Can we take a bold step to do something good for the future generations? "Let's accept what is good, and reject what is bad. Is it too difficult? Why do we have conscience?" - from The Modern Guru. more
advertisements, effect sales a lot. government should indulge more in funding in advertising of the project made in india or by govt. aided handloom industries, cottage industries. these adds should feature in international tv channels, sites and magazines. this investment by the government will increase demand of indian products worldwide. more
Dear Rajendra, Please see all the solutions regarding what needs to be done for transforming India to stop the imports of costly equipment in all the domains and how India can start developing its own high-tech equipment and export them all, and how corruption, crime, poverty, black-money, tax-evasion can all be reduced to zero by implementing the comprehensive, integrated, progressive, drastic transformation programme presented in my book "India's Unique Transformation Programme" (http://www.gyanbooks.com/index.php?p=sr&Uc=9789351281221&l=0, publisher www.gyanbooks.com). All the analysis, solutions, formulae, processes, techniques, implementation strategy, etc. are described in the book to move India in the top 10 of the UN Human Development Index, that is what all the Indian population needs and deserves. Please read the book and get the Unique Transformation Programme implemented all of which is 100% possible to implement. Regards, Jasveer Singh (nivisng@gmail.com) more
1) strict enforcement of quality norms across all industries & adherence to same needs to be checked 2) many unique products in India which can be exported world over but lack of attention costs us as a country e.g. handicrafts as majority of foreigners buy them but we don't promote them 3) taxation must be looked at to ease out exports 4) different export hubs can be created basis the geographical locations of particular industries more
1) Indian "godhdi" blanket is very famous in world wide. Government must support and provide platform to it through "bachat gat". 2) "Bachat gat" is very strong point of India which produced the food product and daily need product which is at very high demand in world. Government should support and motivate such a group. Example is "Tanishka" 3) Government must motivate and support small scale industry and spinning mills. 4) As I has suggested cold storage must be provided at taluka and district level where particular fruits and flower grow in abundance. So that good quality can be exported. 5)government should implement project of converting garbage to manure so that farmers are motivate to grow organic fruits. 6) Again as I has suggested earlier India is rich in craftsman so government must support and motivate craftsman and provide platform to them. 7) Food in abundance must be exported instead of perishing it. 8) India is rich in fruits and flower and herbs. India can setup plants and can export herbs, fruits juices which is now a day highly demanded. 9) Nothing new has to be done by government but to only support what we has as a great resources which has great demand world wide. more
