Exploitation of Diabetic patients.

Diabetic patients are existing across this country and India is considered as capital of Diabetic patients. These patients are existing in all economic strata and in all ages. Type I diabetic patients are generally Juvenile diabetes from the age of 1 onwards.Type-II diabetic patients are adult diabetics who are attacked by this generally from 30 years onwards. Type-I diabetic patients do require insulin injections from from the onset and Type-II patients do require insulin 10 or 15 years after onset (before that they try to control with tablets). Very poor people take insulin injection in Govt.hospitals wherein nurses inject with unsterilized syringes inviting trouble. Middle class diabetic people and all Type-I patients do need Insulin in penfill cartridges which are inserted in Injection Pens and insulin are self injected by patients. The Penfill insulin cartridges as well as the injectable pens (specific to the brand) which are sold only by the MNC Pharmaceutical companies through their outlets are exorbitant in price and the Prices of these MNCs insulines are not controlled by any Government or even by God. They are masters and they rule the price which they quote. They periodically increase the prices of Cartridge insulines silently without any Govt.control and in a single revision they increase as high 75/- or more. The pharmacies say that Govt cannot control prices of MNC companies. Thus the diabetic patients are exploited heavily When Tmt.Jayalalitha was alive the insulin vials were sold at control price. But after her demise that too has increased. As regards Insulin cartridges, the prices need to be controlled by the GOI as patients have to inject themselves without the aid of nurse or doctors. We are not Political people to get government support to get free treatment when we suffer from diabetes .Hence Thiru Modi need to take this point in personal consideration. more

There should be control over medicine price and legal metrology should be given power to take action in this regard. more

Very good post and meaningful comments . The post of Mr. Ravi Gopal's that observed carefully the reduction of HbA1c to normal level with Walk & Diet is really encouraging to people like me . Also the role of Fenugreek and the sprouts is very impressive with proof . Whatever is said and done the problem here is profiteering allowed in the marketing of Imported Insulin. Should this resource post be posted also in the "Anti Profiteering " Circle, so that the matter goes to the right authorities to come out with a decision . more
