Expiry Date Issue

Mostly, the expiry dates are wiped out or blocked with stamp or sticker by the retailer especially in the case of medicines & daily consumables like bread, dahi, milk & similiar eatables. There should be a website wherein a consumer can scan or submit the wrapper by post alongwith an online form with options to select. It should be the onus of the manufacturer to investigate how the expiry date is wiped out, unclear or hidden. If found guilty, then there should be heavy penalty, which will pinch the pockets of the retailer or manufacturer for using malpractices. If honesty prevails sale figures of businesses will enhance, which in turn will result in upliftment of Indian economy. People trust foreign products more because they mostly get exactly what they order iwthout the hassle of receiving expiry dated products or defective products. We must study the laws governing those countries pertaining to consumer durables & implement them. Then Indian products will also be preferred products. more

Selling of medicines with wiped out/illegitimate expiry date tantamount to an offence under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules there under executed by the local Drugs Control Authority under the State Health Department. more
THE EXPIRY DATE OF FOOD STUFF IS A GIMIK IMAGINE PRATHA WITH EXPIRY DATE OF ONE MONTH OR DAL MAKNI WITH EXPIRY DATE OF ONE YEAR. SOME MEDICINES MAY LOOSE EFFECTIVENESS AS SOME SALTS IN IT MAY DECOMPOSE AND BECOME A DIFFERENT SALT AFTER LONG STORAGE OR EXPOSURE TO HEAT AND LIGHT. BUT MOST MEDICINES ARE GOOD ENOUGH EVEN AFTER EXPIRY DATES. SO CAN BE STILL USED IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. AYURVEDIC ASAVS AND ARISHITS BECOME BETTER AND MORE EFFECTIVE WITH STORAGE FOR LONGER PERIOD. more
Make it a habit to check the expiry date while buying medicine or food stuff. This perhaps will keep you away from spurious items and also tell your family members to be vigilant while buying. more
