The EPF transfer is completely a failure. It was promised with a lot of fanfare, ended up with multiple registrations with respect to UAN / UID, etc, from your side, from your company side, from your old company side. etc., My old EPF accounts are still loitering with lakhs of rupees, and me losing valuable interest as the government is not in favour of providing interest on old EPF accounts. Why? It is still money, and the employee is not dead. I still need money. The brokers are hard to find, over priced, and nothing in the websites are automated, except the one word reply "Disposed". The middle class are penalised for the failure of the government to distribute wealth in a fair and equitable manner., for no fault of the the middle class. more

When you join new institution , you have to mention the UAN number to the new employer without fail and the letter should be acknowledged and kept it in your personal file. Afterwards you have to verify the account continuously for the next few months and try to get the acknowledgement slips issued by EPF annually. more
