Electricity tarrifs to go up by 23% in UP
In times like these when household incomes are stagnant how in the world can UP Govt even think about increasing power tarriffs by 23%.
Instead they should pakdo chori of power which is probably 30% consumption. Can they will they or no one wants to do hard work Nd therefore do easy work of squeezing those who are pahaing through the nose anyways. more

We as consumer indulge in power theft and we expect that every thing to be done by others. if we do our duty honestly than most of the problem will be solved. more

बिजली चोरी होती नहीं है करवायी जाती है और इसकी जानकारी ऊपर तक होती है - यहाँ तक कि इनका भी रेट है - चोरी से AC चलाने का 350-400 रुपए महीना, गीज़र का 200-250 रुपए महीना इत्यादि। कुछ वर्ष पूर्व मेरी एक उच्चाधिकारी से इस संदर्भ में बात हो रही थी तो उनका जबाब था - " ठीक है हम चोरी करवाते है पर करते तो आप है " और इसका जबाब मेरे पास नहीं था/ है? जहां तक निजीकरण से चोरी रोकने की बात है तो आज बिलिंग निजी एजेंसी द्वारा की जा रही है और बिजली चोरी की सुविधा इनके माध्यम से ही दी जा रही है। इसके अतिरिक्त हर बिल में DUE DATE REBATE ADJUSTED की छूट दी जाती है उसे AREAR AMOUNT के नाम से उसी बिल में वसूल लिया जाता है और यह वह लूट है जो दिखती नहीं है - मै दो बिल संलग्न कर रहा हू और अनुरोध है की अपने अपने बिल को देखें more

Privatisation only can reduce power theft. Smart meters are another but weaker option. Electricity tariff should in inflation adjusted annually, not more than inflation more
