Education for Every Indian - Inputs on Key Issues

Dear Friends,

Thanks for all the inputs so far on the various priorities/subjects.

Education is the first step to Empowerment. A Billion Indians, if all educated, can transform the nation in its truest sense and make India a developed nation.

Through this discussion, let us raise issues that need to be addressed in India's education system to enable every Indian to atleast be properly educated till Class 12. (We will discuss improvement in College/Technical education as a separate item)

Once we have outlined the issues, we will identify the Root Causes and the Solutions through separate posts.

Education system must be simplified, more IMPOTANCE must be given to character building, sports, health, yoga, meditation, Education must be made a fun-filled process, How to stay healthy physically and mentally must be taught in school, care for environment must be a major subject, Competition must be reduced in education system. Kids must be allowed to enjoy in schools, Poor children must be adopted by state for education and must be considered as state asset. CORRUPTION in schools and education system must be dealt very SERIOUSLY. Schools must be stopped from taking illegal donations. Qualitative education must be top most priority for the state. more

It appears that the Government has failed to implement the recommendation of its commissions. Than why they make commissions most of these points are well covered in the Kothari's commission report. We need proper implementation rather than making new policies, and setting new commissions. more
