eCommerce product reviews to be made mandatory

There are several ecommerce sites and apps who do not allow a consumer to rate or review a product. This is because they themselves are seller of product.

The ministry of consumer affairs in their ecommerce rules need to make it mandatory for ALL ecommerce sites to have reviews and ratings of ALL products they are listing.

This will give consumers way to report. more

It would in noway help to protect the consumers' interests, as it is reported that the eCommerce sites with such facilities are producing most of the reviews on products being handled by them are self generated to suit their interests better. more  
A department should control ecommerce and various guidelines should be enforced. more

A unbiased review posted on the site can act as a guide but how to ensure it is unbiased by a consumer of product/service more  
What is more important is they must publish all report. If they do so then only we can think of this type of review. more
