“EASE OF DOING BUSINESS”—HARDSHIPS FACED IN EPFO

Present Government is promoting the slogan for any legislation it is has brought or any amendments it has made are said to be aiming at ‘Ease of Doing Business’. But in reality one has to check whether they are facilitating the Businesses to do at ease or not.
Latest major obstacle is made by the EPFO by bringing new rule suddenly without issuing any circular or orders but by only by way of an alert in the portal home page as
a valid Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a must for all UAN linking and generation of new EPFO members with immediate effect
Thereby it put a hurdle in making PF contribution challan payments for the month of April’2025. Due to last minute knowledge of the new requirement, Companies who are first time enrolled under pf or existing companies whose DSC expired in April25 has to rush to PFO for DSC approval. Even though they applied online, several visits are required for follow up for DSC registration approval and the officials’ are using the same for their benefit and arm twisting for bribes or else putting several queries and rejecting the same. Really dealing corrupt epfo officials is highly irritating and disgusting. If we do not pay them bribes the DSC will not be approved in the site and thereby the company will face compliance issues of dis allowance of exp. due to delay in payment of PF In Income Tax act and levy of Interest and penalty in EPF act.
Local circles should focus on this problem of corruption and lack of accountability of epfo department to ‘ Ease of Doing Business in India’ more

It is the Software Companies & EFPO Officers Scam. for Companies it is O.K. But For each year renewal you have to pay the money. whether it is used or Not . You have to pay. In General they are charging Rs. 1000 - 2000 /00 Per annum. now see the amount of money will get to companies if EFPO members get On Line digital signature. PPF is having around 10-20 cores peoples.so the business will be in the tune of Rs. 1000-2000 Cores !!! think big , Earn big , No hassles , make peoples fool & earn money. Modern Management principle. Raise this concern to PMO , FM, HRD & other related ministries with CC to Media. Let them get exposed. more
govt should start a corruption index initially for the states which leads in it with some parameters and create a website their where people also can put forth their feedback more
there is a big gap in ease of doing business and still corruption is rampant with the ministries for industries at state level it is atrocious with all ministers wanting to make hay while the sun shines for their next 5 or more generations all the tax payers money are going into their pocket.govt should bring a law that all minsters who have accumulate corrupt money should not be allowed to contest and on them pMLa should be imposed since they would have accumulated money beyond their means by corruption and commission in all tenders etc more
The ease of doing business is a big joke for most common people. It's become easier, though, for the big players. EPFO is employee welfare and not exactly representative of any ease of doing business. The entire concept of EPF needs a re-look and a massive overhaul to make it reflective of current situations. The European model of large social service contributions is coupled with assured services from the government, which is not the case in India. No scheme in India is universal or has an assured quality of service. It's not about politics but about the lack of understanding and a continued vision that spans a horizon of 10-20-30 years down the line. Many projects and offerings are knee-jerk and short-term, which become self-defeating. more
I think there is a gap between the AI and the user ; either the user should be wise to query accordingly or the automated voice messaging systems should be appropriately fed with precise FAQ's more
