Dont use N-95 with valved respirators

Director General of Health Services warned States/UTs against the use of N-95 masks with valved respirators by people, saying valved respirator N 95 does not prevent the virus from spreading out. more

There is also available in the market another mask type called KN95 and it is without the valve.
Could someone please throw some light on its usefulness, thanks !! more

Very good , the ministry has cautioned .The N-95 Masks with exhalation Valves is actually makes breathing easy nd reduces the heat build up inside the Mask .

But the valve will not be able to prevent the Virus while exhaling, actually the person wearing it is safe , but the if the person wearing N-95 is Asymptomatic Positive case the exhaled air will contain the Virus infecting others. more
A useful information to know.

And if the advice comes from a recognised governmental institution like the MoHFW, then presumably they must have done proper recce/tests on it before making it public. more
agree, the gamcha mask has same issue if not folded properly, it should be atleast 3 layered mask or cotton cloth. more
Release of coronavirus from a valved N95 mask will be much less than "gamcha" mask! more
