Doctors big tax evaders

I feel 99% of independent doctors in India are tax evaders.

Even those with computerisation, take all the details of patients these days, then clerk give a hand written slip of patients vitals which they hand to doctor. Then most patients walk out after seeing the doctor.

If a patient insists on receipt, reluctantly the clerk will make a hand written one from a book that doesnt even have doctors gst number.

No one rarely raises hell about it unless they are very upset with Doctor. more

I agree with Tara sharma. Doctors are most educated people in India yet 99% of the doctors donot accept digital money i.e.by credit card , debit card or paytm. I suggest all , to pay any amount by digital money only so income of anybody at any time can be assess by I tax dept. & he has to pay tax. I always ask to any merchant including doctors before paying , are you accepting digital money? And at my surprise , not a single doctor ( most educated people) I found who is accepting digital money. Only corporate hospitals are accepting digital money. Not private hospitals or doctors. That is a shame to such a higher education. If we insist them or every merchants to accept it , they have to in future. more
Agree with you Tara ji more
It is all a glaring failure of the Income Tax department. They are evidently hand-in-glove with the corporate hospitals and the doctors. The wretched tax system in our country needs a thorough overhaul and the rich must be taxed automatically since all data is computerised. more
My experience was that most of the doctors were opposed to demonetisation. You can guess the reasons. more
It is true. I do not find a reason as to why tax is not paid while they earn professional income. Government is not asking for anything outside the income ambit. Similar situation exists in other professional practice like Practicing Advocates. I T Department need to be PROACTIVE measures. more
