Discremination of Airtel
My DTH operator is Airtel.After the intervention of TRAI situation has deteriorated.I am very much dissatisfied with airtel.Airtel never bother to listen the problem of consumer.I tried several time to have a contact with the executive of airtel to address my problem but failed.Very poor connectivity.Airtel is using discretion in the matter of DTH & charging heavily.My only request you is to ask airtel to display the minimum package affordable to all.I nned only few news channels.one or two movie ,one sport thats all.Why should I pay more than Rs.300 to pick up a package. Yes, TRAI has not done justice to consumers. Expenses of all the consumers have increased. I have two suggestions: (1) NCF charges of ₹130+GST are too high and should be reduced to ₹ 30+GST and each consumer should be provided 5 DD channels of his / her choice free. (2) Consumer must be free to select channels (FTA/Paid) or packages as he / she likes from the list of packages / channels (mix up of channel/packages allowed) and pay for the channels / packages selected as per the prescribed fee. more

You can create your own pack after creating ur account at service provider website. I availed services of all DTH providers (except SUN TV) in past years and found that Tata Sky is the best as far as response is concerned. I am not from Tata Sky. I too had bitter experience with Airtel. we should boycott such companies then only they will learn how to treat customers fairly and would set example for others too. You will only incurr cost of set top box again but change the provider., then they will call you frequently and will give so many offers. more

You need not speak to anybody in Airtel. Just visit Airtel DTH site, register your account with your customer ID. You can then create a custom package for yourself. Please note that the lowest package you can select as per TRAI rules is Rs. 150/ + GST. In this package you can watch 100 Free to Air channels. Out of this 100 channels 25 DD channels are mandatory and are auto selected (you cannot remove them) You can procced to then select other 75 FTA channels of your choice including mix of News, Movies, Music etc (most of the news channels are free to Air). None of the sports channels are free. Other than FTA channels you can select paid channels of your choice. Please note that in this case your bill will increase accordingly. If you select more than 100 channels then you will have to pay additional Rs. 25/- +GST per additional 20 channels selected. Please note that you do not have to select all 100 channels. Select only the channels you want to watch. more
