Diabetes and Sugar Can Juice - interesting

As against the popular belief, sugarcane juice can be beneficial for all those who are dealing with diabetes. The following are some of its benefits:

To begin with, the sugarcane juice acts as a great energy drink for those who suffer from diabetes.
The sugarcane juice is known to be a rich source of various beneficial antioxidants in the body. These antioxidants go a long way in helping to boost the immunity system of the body. Weakness if immunity is one of the major consequences as well as the cause of diabetes. This, in turn, helps to manage diabetes in an effective manner.
By improving the levels of protein in the body. Sugarcane juice goes a long way in improving the health of the kidney. Kidney-related diseases are very common amongst the diabetes patients. By helping to protect the kidneys, diabetes is effectively managed.
When you have kidney stones, you feel a typical type of burning sensation in the urinary tract. This can be prevented by consuming juice of sugarcane mixed with coconut water and lime juice.
No doubt, sugarcane juice has high levels of sugar in it and is really sweet to taste. However, you should not forget that the sugar in sugarcane juice comes from a natural source and as a result, the glycemic index is low. As a result, you need not worry about too much rise in your blood glucose levels when to drink sugarcane juice.
Another reason why the sugar in sugarcane juice is not bad is that the sugar present in the juice is processed in your liver rather than in your small intestine. This makes the absorption of sugar that is derived from the sugarcane juice all the slower making it beneficial for the diabetes patients.
Digestive disorders are another common side-effect in people who suffer from diabetes. The juice is known to have a soothing effect in the digestive tract. It prevents various types of infections in the stomach while also enabling smooth flow of blood through your digestive tract. Good levels of potassium in the sugarcane juice help to achieve the same.
The sugarcane juice is also known to be a rich source of several minerals such as calcium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, iron, amongst a host of other chemicals and minerals. These help a great deal to the patients who find it difficult to manage diabetes.
Finally, it is a known fact the sugarcane juice has difficult to digest form of fiber. This goes a long way in promoting the good bacteria of the body which, in turn, is responsible for good gut health. more

HbA1C is a criteria to know the blood sugar levels. With medicines the figure for me was around 6.8 and without medicines for the last more than three years the value remains around 7. I have no intention to control it with medicines because I observed negative impact in my normal life. With controlled diet I will like to live as long possible now at the age of 68 years with my active and normal life. One must have the ways to consume the energy generated by the meals taken in the day. No physical work in normal life means no consumption of sugar in any meals or drinks after the age of 30 years. This is what I have understood in my life. more
Thanks, Aditi.. 1. Diabetes has been around since the days humans were around - about 4 million years ago - the only difference, we know about diabetes as a disease now. By knowing now, i mean for the past 50 years +, or more. 2. The problem is unwillingness of allopathy doctors to identify the one primary reason it can occur - high triglycerides (just1 ml of oil in a person's blood - of about 6 liters). Can be avoided by not eating fried and heavy foods after 6 PM. 3. Ayurveda works for a number of people - yet availability is far and few. 4. (contd.. from 1. above) On a continuation note- Please see below copied from wikipedia. History Main article: History of diabetes Diabetes was one of the first diseases described,[107] with an Egyptian manuscript from c. 1500 BCE mentioning "too great emptying of the urine".[108] The Ebers papyrus includes a recommendation for a drink to be taken in such cases.[109] The first described cases are believed to be of type 1 diabetes.[108] Indian physicians around the same time identified the disease and classified it as madhumeha or "honey urine", noting the urine would attract ants.[108][109] The term "diabetes" or "to pass through" was first used in 230 BCE by the Greek Apollonius of Memphis.[108] .. Kindly appreciate that a pistol or dagger wielding criminal is safer than a uncontrolled/undisciplined diabetes. One may or may not be hit by the criminal and, even after getting hit, the injury may or may not be so grievous. But the effect of diabetes is surly fatal or grievous. It may attack kidney and/or heart and/or vision and/or brain....... It seems there is an urgent need of mass education on diabetes - and measures to be taken by the victims. more
Ms Jain...I would indeed be very interested to know the source of your information. We get enough sugars from normal fruit and vegetables. and with the added burden of sugarcane, the liver is overloaded with sugar, which it converts to fat, and which is then very hard to get rid of. This leads to tremendous weight gain and consequently increased INSULIN RESISTANCE …..which is diabetes (Ref. : Harvard Medical School). more
Kindly appreciate that all human systems are not identical, all diabetes are not identical and hence effects of identical food intakes are also not identical on all human beings. Diabetes is an established 'slow killer', having plenty of fatal and pathetic manifestations. Don't get tempted to take such adventurous suicidal selfies. Once in a while some kind of sugar containing sweets can be taken as an exemption, but routine should be strictly forbidden. Thrive to defeat to defeat the enemies within you - 'lobha' (Greed) and 'moha' (Infusion/infatuation). Unfortunately, I had experienced sudden/untimely demise quite a few of my nearests/ closests having such maverick dispositions on variety of forbidden foods. more
